Friends of the Library

dedicated to supporting
and enhancing the resources of Norfolk’s historic
Hepburn Library.
Purpose of the Friends of the Library:
Advocacy: A Friends group serves as an informed citizen’s lobby that supports the library when necessary.
Fund Raising: A Friends group supplements what cannot be provided by the normal library budget. Fundraisers can be held or friends can play a role in encouraging donations. Our Friends do book sales and a donation drive.
Volunteer work: There are about 10-15 active members of the Friends of the library. Our Friends do book sales, refreshments for the library during events, help with story hour, help lead and present summer reading, maintain gardens at the library. The friends also help with the all important school visit! We love when our 3rd and 4th grade kiddos come to visit.
